Episode 16: All The Little Details

Bach concertos, Bob Dylan lyrics, Lasagna, road trips and long, juicy emails -- this episode of Happiness Spells is comin' in hot.

Creating a perfect playlist for a friend, knowing their taste so well that you were able to pick and choose songs that will appeal to them so much that you can’t hardly wait to send it.

The crumbly, streusel topping on a real blueberry muffin.

Pulling out a book at the library based on the cover, reading the description and suddenly feeling so seen.

Buying your own flowers at the store and making a bouquet for a friend.

A song you haven’t heard in years comes on the grocery store, you sashay down the bread aisle remembering.

A warm, thick, bulky sweater that isn’t itchy at all.

Eating before you’re angry.

Something as simple as walking around with you after it’s been raining, cold ground dark and saturated.

Warm lasagna with that gooey layer of cheese baked on top.

When they can’t wait to tell you something and they start speaking quickly as soon as they see you, almost stumbling in their haste.

The second day of a road trip when a novelty has worn off but there are so many things to see, you don’t even mind.

Bob Dylan lyrics that say it better than you ever could.

A long email from someone you’re happy to hear from, filling you in on all the little details of their day to day.

A single cello playing a Bach concerto.

Cutting your own bangs, they’re not perfect but they look pretty good.

Being in fog so dense you can’t see ten feet in front of you.

When they finally cut the cast off and you see your arm for first time in months -- pale, limp but healed and whole.
